Leatherback Cottage

We loved the location of the house. So close to so many good restaurants and bars. We stayed one month and enjoyed the huge deck and view. The house was very nice and certainly big enough for two people. Our guests did not make it due to Covid. Great well stocked kitchen and the main bed and bath were great. The only complaint we would have is that if you have 2 or 3 couples, the extra bedroom and bathroom upstairs are very small. The twin beds are not that comfortable, especially for a large man. The bottom part of the house is huge and fantastic but I would like to see regular size beds and not bunk beds down there. For children it would be great but not for adults! All in all I would recommend the house, especially for families with children. For our purposes, we will not be renting it again only due to the things I have mentioned above. We typically have only adults who stay with us. The agent was very helpful and we did enjoy our stay.

Wow! This place was absolutely amazing!! The house was gorgeous and the view is breathtaking. We definitely will return. Sue was wonderful!!

We had a lovely stay! It felt like we had our own private beach. Cottage was sparkling clean and just as described. Quiet. Peaceful. The beds were all comfortable. The pool was a refreshing treat after a day on the boat. My only gripe is with the dockage. Owner could add decking instead of having boat docked right at bulkhead. We want to stay here again. Thinking about next year. :-)

My family had so much fun at Leatherback Cottage. The entire property is gorgeous! The home is clean and stocked with anything you could need. There are lounge chairs all around the pool and a bench under the gazebo. We docked our boat there and there was plenty of room for it along with multiple hoses to use. It could use a fish cleaning station but no biggie. The beds are comfortable as are the couches. Downstairs has double bunk beds and a seating area with a tv (which is not shown in the pictures). My kids loved the downstairs. We used the kayaks and noodles and there are many more toys to use while you are there. Sue was available within minutes with any questions we had. All in all it's an amazing place and we will hopefully be back.

We had the best time staying at Leatherback (& Green) Cottage. The house was immaculate whenever we arrived and was well stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags for our trip. We brought our 30' boat and an 18' boat with us. Besides the tide dropping to dead low numbers after the storm passed through we had zero issues with the boat basin. We did not get around to using the kayaks and paddleboards but we really enjoyed the pool after boat days. Highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful home! The property was so clean and well maintained. The furnishings were new and comfortable. Loved all the amenities as the property had it all. Great location and wonderful views of the ocean. The pool was perfect and great way to hang out while enjoying the surroundings. We truly had a fabulous time. Sue, the property manager, was amazing and helpful. She was so accessible and made the whole process easy! Absolutely recommend this property. The parking is just tricky if a boat trailer is involved, especially if more than one guest has a boat. Thanks for a fun vacation!

Sue couldn't have been more helpful and great hospitality. Place was super clean and could tell they care a lot . We are in the keys atleast 10 weeks a year and this is one of the best spots we have been to. Thank you for being so accommodating and very easy to get along with

We loved staying at the Leatherback. The view from our deck, the great pool and landscaping were spectacular. The cottage itself was spacious, well-appointed and the separate downstairs cottage was great for guests. We loved the amenities including our own workout equipment, ping pong table and shared water sports and we met wonderful guests from across the US in the shared cottages. It was like living on our own little island! Thankyou to the owners and Freewheeler, we hope to come back again.

We stayed at Turtle Cove and rented the Leatherback Cottage as well as all the other cottages on the property for a family vacation. The Leatherback was perfect for my personal family of 7. The upstairs was cozy coastal and was appointed with everything we needed (even for Thanksgiving meal prep!). The downstairs was great space for our older kids to hang out - giving everyone plenty of space throughout our vacation. The property is gorgeous with phenomenal views and plenty of room to spread out and soak in the sun. Pool is wonderful. We even used the boat dock. 5++ stars all around, including the service provided by Sue. We can't wait to come back!

The leatherback cottage is delightful. Our family found it to be very comfortable and well appointed. The view of the Atlantic Ocean is wonderful. The location in Islamorada is ideal.
