Alligator Reef- Conch & Lobster Homes

Everything was great, we loved the houses. We couldn’t get the pool lights to work after the first night but not a big deal. We rented a boat and it was a little difficult getting to the dock during low tide but we managed, it would be awesome if the dock extended out a little more.Thank you for your review.  We don't advertise as the home having dockage because its so shallow.  Unfortunately, the dock goes out as far as legally allowed in Islamorada.  However, we are glad you made it work.  Always call us with questions!  We are here to help!  See you again soon!  The Freewheeler Vacations Team

Our extended family of 24 people (ages 5 to 70 years) stayed for a week at Alligator Reef and had a great time. The houses, furnishings, kitchens, and property were all wonderful. There was ample space for everyone to have some quiet time when they needed it and to spend lots of time together indoors and outdoors. We all spent most of the time on the beautiful porches, in and around the pools, on hammocks, and on the dock and kayaks. We had a couple of small maintenance issues that were handled promptly after a phone call to the office. We would definitely come back!

Immediately, being post Irma, I was worried! I had booked this complex for a month to entertain multiple customers in a variety of outings. Not only was the complex brought up to speed quickly, the staff at Freewheeler made the decision to go through w/the event easy. They provided all the support needed, recommended locals to fill needs (ie: the awesome chef @ Follow the food) and stepped up when asked. The month log event ended up being very memorable for my employees and customers. The property, while not 100%, was fabulous and fun for all. I cannot say enough about alligator reef, the management company nor the experience. I will do it again!

We were there for our daughters wedding at a different location and booked these 4 homes for our friends and family from out of state. This was the perfect set up and we really never needed to go anywhere else so we had a quality visit having cookouts, hanging by the pool, kayaking, and had tons of laughs. The homes were equipped with anything we needed and the only negative I could say is that my calves were sore from all the stairs but that is because I'm out of shape. Seriously though, if you had anyone very elderly or with bad knees, you should keep that in mind. The property managers were very prompt and attentive to any of our needs as well! We will look to have another gathering in the future!

We hosted our family reunion at Alligator Reef. It was wonderful and a big hit with the whole family. We loved kayaking along the shore, sitting around the campfire at night, swimming in the pool during the day. Freewheeler was terrific and quickly helped out with some minor maintenance issues. Highly recommended!

My family just spent a week at Alligator Reef compound. All 4 houses were perfect for our large family. There were 22 of us ranging in age from 1 to 68 and we all had a wonderful time! Kayaking, swimming, snorkeling , and just relaxing. Loved it all. Thank you for answering all my questions you were a pleasure to deal with!

First trip out and the property was fantastic. It was large enough for the whole family and still gave us privacy. The deck overlooking the water was all we could ask for. Pool and dock were extras that were still fantastic.

We had a wonderful time. Couldn’t have ask for better accommodation. Getting to the boats was a little tricky because the dock needs to be a little longer but we managed. The kids loved the pool. We would stay there again.

Vacation started off horrible by being scammed at another property. Owner of property recommended Brandy/Crystal at Freewheeler. They found a house for us (2 houses actually) that would accommodate 4 couples. Brandy was very attentive to our needs and we had a great stay. The only downside of renting the property was we could not dock the boat at the house because the dock was too shallow. But we were close to a marina. Would definitely use Freewheeler again for a vacation rental.

Conch and Lobster has a beautiful outdoor area. The upstairs porch was roomy with a fantastic view. We really liked the set up of the house although thought it was a little odd that there was no door to the master bathroom. Also we had thought Conch would have 2 1/2 baths when really the 1/2 bath was downstairs off the pool. Other than that the layout was great and the property was in a perfect location. We had a wonderful family vacation at Conch and Lobster.

We had a great time at the house. The pool, fire pit, and outdoor bar/grill area were all a huge hit. The location was great for our weekend of fishing and visiting local restaurants. The houses were perfect for our group and we had no complaints. The local critters do like to get in the trash cans at night so beware what you put in the trash or it will be spread all over the ground in the morning like a buffet. We would love to come back to stay at the Conch and Lobster again in the future.

We were a family of 10 in the 2 homes with lots of room. The view from the balcony was amazing and the pool and outdoor area was very spacious. The kitchen and family room made dinner and game nights easy. The staff were responsive to any minor issues. For those not familiar with tides, it is best to go to weather and tides forecasts and only go out on kayaks around high tide to avoid getting stuck in shallow water at low tide.
